OfflineThe 2010 Blogger's Choice voting has begun.
Lakjin got dotTech on the board by nominating the site and there are currently 2 votes.
Last year's winner for Best Geek Blog is off to a faster start with 17 votes, but we can give'em a run for their money this year because we've got plenty of time to do it.
Let's rally this year and give Ashraf at least some of the recognition he deserves for providing all the great info he does!
Here's a link for the page where you can vote:
http://bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/69321
PS: It would have been 3 votes right now, but for some reason the site won't let me log in. My info automatically populates the username and password boxes, but when I click on "log in" it just loops back to the same page and I'm not logged in. I tried having a new password assigned via email, using their link for that, but that didn't help either.
Anybody got any ideas that'll help me get signed in so I can vote?
OfflineVoting continues and dotTech is tied for 3rd with 6 votes.
Last year's winner has 32 votes so far.
I still can't log in or set up a new account so I can vote. Arghhhhhhhh…
OfflineI've added 7 votes and I'll add another when the confirmation email comes through to my googlewave account. All legit email addresses I have.
-work
-personal gmail
-personal yahoo
-personal google apps
-gov't org I am contracted to
-college email
-verizon (from fios service)
So we're up to 19 and we'll get to 20 once I get my googlewave confirmation.

OfflineI finally got to vote!
Had to dig out the old, dusty IE to do it. But it's done. I set up a second account with one of my other email address's too. Two is enough for tonight tho. I'm going to bed…
I don't have a clue as to why FireFox still keeps looping me whenever I try to log in. It only does it on that one site. I've also got my options set up to delete all cookies whenever I close FF. But that still doesn't fix the issue.
It's enough to tick a guy off…
OfflineUpdate:
We're tied for 2nd right now with 23 votes. We're tied with a medical blog. ???
The leader has a good lead with 58 votes.
Might be a good time to have an article posted reminding those that don't frequent this forum to vote. Just a suggestion Ashraf, honest! This is your baby, I sure ain't gonna try to tell you what to do.

OfflineI should have posted here last night too, but forgot I guess.
Anyway, dotTech is currently in second place, only ten votes behind last year's winner.
If we can keep up the pace, there should be no problem getting this thing for Ashraf.
Good work everybody!

OfflineI also signed up with DotTech so I could vote; as a way of saying thanks to Ashraf and all for excellent reviews and comments.
I tried to sign up several times but my "MyWay" email let me down. I truly like the myway.com website because of the very limited ads and fast loading pages.
But they switched to some kind of java(?) app for the free email account and a lot of my mail ends up in the electronic soup.
Anyway, thanks again. This website is a valuable reference for me and it has a pleasant atmosphere.

OfflineAlthough we're still in the early stages of this race, dotTech and the "other" site are in a heated race for the lead.
The other site has 152 votes, dotTech 149.
DotTech.org almost (or maybe did for a little while, when I wasn't looking) had the lead, but then the other site rallied and pulled away, expanding the lead.
But true to form, dotTechies refused to let the spurt of votes for the other site deter them. They fought back, closing that lead to the the current 3 votes.
The other site appears to have a strategy whereby when they are about to loose the lead, they send a short rush of voters to cast their votes on Blogger's Choice. While dotTechies are gaining votes at a slower, but steady pace.
This race appears to be much like the childrens story about the race between the turtle and the hare. Most of us (in the US anyway) can remember the outcome of that story.
Hang in there dotTechies, a steady pace can win the race! And keep up the good work!
OfflineTwo days into March (where I am anyway) dotTech is only 2 votes behind the leader.
I'll spare you the normal pep-talk bologna that I've been spewing about voting. We all know what to do. So this is just an update on the numbers for you.
Have a great day everybody!

OfflineWell, it's 6 weeks later and dotTech is only 11 votes behind the leader in the Best Geek Blog catagory at 157 to 168.
I hope people haven't lost interest. VOTES ARE STILL BEING TAKEN.
I've got a couple more emails I can register to get 2 more votes.
dotTech is listed under Best Blogging Host running way behind at 19 to 103 and under Best Blog About Stuff running WAY behind at 16 to 226.
If you register and vote don't forget to vote in all three catagories.
IMHO, I kinda question how important this award is and the validity of this site when it doesn't even work correctly in Firefox (I also had problems). Even in (Yuk
)IE, it had some minor page display problems.
