Oh and I want to clarify that the "racism" I refer to above is from all sides: Even South Asian critics are more critical of South Asian players/teams when something goes wrong as opposed to being just as outspoken when other players/teams are involved in controversy.

I don't want to play the racism card, but it is interesting that whenever a South Asian cricket team is involved with controversy, everyone seems to want to provide their opinion, it gets huge media coverage, etc. However, when a team like England or Australia is involved, the backlash is much less.

Case in point: I wonder what the backlash would have been if a Pakistani bowler threw the ball at an English batsmen, as Stuart Broad did at Zulqarnain Haider, potentially aggrevating an injury that caused Haider to sit out the rest of the games. I will go out on a limb and say the backlash would have definitely been more profound.

Of course it doesn't help that the PCB has no backbone.

And the mud-slinging begins ...

Former ICC head Malcolm Speed has said "perhaps they [Pakistan] need a rest" from international cricket. Sure, Malcolm, taint everyone with the same brush. That helps.

Watch them all come out of woodwork ... it's going to get really ugly.

Don't know how true it is, but it sounds like a disgruntled ex taking advantage of the situtation.

(FWIW, Muslims aren't even supposed to have girlfriends/boyfriends.)

Yeah, he is being hailed as one of the great young bowlers.

That said, knowing Pakistani cricket, even if the players were found guilty, my bet is they won't be punished as severly as they should be. (No pun intended.) It will most likely be a slap on the wrist, like it always is.

It will be a loss to cricket all around if Mohammad Amir (Aamer) goes down. A truly exciting young bowler. I saw that Imran was calling for those found guilty to be subject to "exemplary punishment". I have no idea what that means, but it sounds ... well, painful. I grew up watching Imran play - and like millions of females around the world was madly in love with him - but this just sounds like an inflammatory sound bite to me. And this probably isn't the time to inflame things further. Personally, I think being thrown out of the game will hurt those players involved enough. After all, there were bigger fish pulling the strings here. The money was just the lure - if indeed the allegations are found to be true.

It caps off a truly bad month for Pakistan. My heart goes out to the country.

Yeah this makes me really sad. It wasnt enough for them to get crushed 3-1 but they had to run our name in the mud some more by participating in match fixing. To make matters worse a couple of the accused are Pakistan's brightess bowling prospects and this will kill their careers, as it should.

I'm only hoping none of it is true. Only time will tell.

And yes, I know they are allegations ... but picking the exact time when three no balls would be bowled?

Let's see how this all unfolds. It ain't gonna be nice.
