Well, he doesn’t technically require our permission to take a break, yet it would be great to hear from him again.  It’s been 10 days since his last post, a record length since I’ve been here.  In fact I’m surprised no one’s mentioned it yet.

I’m hoping you’re well, Ashraf.

Any comments? Questions? Outbursts?

Funny you should say that, I was about to post something about that until I saw this.  Last time he left he gave a reason for leaving…

I have seen him logged in a few times over the last 2 weeks, but he’s left without doing anything.

Sean,

I too have spotted Ashraf’s “all seeing eye” as recently as the last 2 days and, in response to Refpeuk, did remark on his “silence” in my post about fake contests – also about two days ago.. Confused

Guess we are all miising our daily “fix” of his utterings and suffering withdrawal symptoms as a result. Wink

C’mon Ashraf, give us a sign (not two fingers though Laugh) that all is well with you.

LOL.

SEEK (Google) and yea shall find. Ars Longa, Vita Brevis.

I dunno – one-fingered signs can be pretty bad as well! Wink

I figured my PC was broken somehow.  No Ashraf mutterings makes for a dull day.  C’mon Ashraf, let us know you are okay at least.  We miss you. Frown

I’m sure GOTD misses you as well. Laugh

According to Wikipedia there is a holiday that falls around the beginning of March.  Wonder if that’s it?  The article wasn’t clear on observations.

Oh, the site that was :(

I believe Ashraf explained this last year.

He is not Christian like me.  He is Muslim I believe and their religious holidays and beliefs are diferent from you and me.

No big deal  – He’ll be back.  We all miss him and wish him well.

Peace. Smile

Humour is a nice way to get over the undeniably painful separation pangs. Apart from the ones here there is another excellent one by Joji in the main blog –

dotTech Exclusive: 20 free licenses of Paragon Hard Disk Manager 2010 Suite (Part 1)! comment 52.

Joji

@51, Eddy

Until Ashraf either comes back from the following:

1. From the hospital, he probably injured himself. O_O

2. From going on a cruise but forgot his laptop OR it broke down and couldn’t contact us! D:

3. He went to outer space and learned the ways of the Jedi and faught Darth… wait… WTF!

4. He’s too busy and stressed out from work.

5. He’s playing Call of Duty MW way too much… addicted! XD

6. He’s out with his girlfriend and trying to impress her with his computer h@cK0rs of pure amazingness.

7. He forgot about us D:

8. He’s shopping for new stuff at Best Buy to soup up’ his crappy computer.

9. He’s working at Microsoft to do all that Halo REACH stuff.

10. He became nuts and is trying to travel the world in 80 days.

11. He reached the center of the earth and is about to make a great discovery!

12. He’s watching TV.

There are about 500 other reasons why Ashraf hasn’t been posting in a while… but that would be too long. :(

Hope that helped!

~Joji~

How was I supposed to know his religion XD?  Rachana said Good Friday which is a big Christian day, so I just made assumptions.  I wasn’t here last year.

I only found one holiday in March, and thats a one day celebration.

The only Islamic holiday I found was Malwid which celebrates Mohammed’s birthday:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mawlid which in 2010 was celebrated on 2/26 (Sunni) or 3/3 (Shi’a).

Of course, this is all just speculation.  But I learned something new about a religion I know little about, so regardless of where Ashraf actually is, it is always good to learn something new.

NOOOOOOO it was the UFO that was sighted a few weeks ago they took him for a ride. and in doing so filled his mind with all sorts of new tech info, so when they do drop him off he can share it all with us…

In the end everything will be OK. If it's not OK then it's not the end.

FWIW

In the spirit of world peace & harmony, of respect for all faiths, & equality for all:

In a very general sense, one’s beliefs are not necessarily =  to one’s religion, as many of us have absorbed the positives from the wealth of the world’s religions, & many also have positive spiritual values, that are derived from both religious & other cultural institutions.

Realizing that sometimes we say things that we had absolutely no intention of harm, we must be mindful that when using the phrase “diferent from you and me…” it may inadvertently connote an exclusionary “us versus them” feeling, which can further lead to other negativities.

I only mention this after a friend saw this & she said that it seems to say that all others on the forum are of ‘their’ religion. It also assumes that one knows just what others beliefs are; yet typical forums are anonymous, making that impossible.

So my intention is not to be construed in any way as an admonishment, merely a suggestion that we all need to be aware of other’s sensitivities.

Thanks.

Kind regards

I had no intention  of causing any problems or hurting anyone’s feelings on this board. I’m sorry I offended  your friend or anyone else who read my post.  I certainly think the world of ASHRAF.
