Well, I'll be! It worked! Thanks guys! Brilliant!
Hey!
What I'm seeing next to your quote is a box that has no pic but says "CoolAvatars.net hot-link disabled."
I pasted it here

Strangely, when I copy/pasted it to a Word doc., & used "match destination formatting I could see the blue/white swirly-thingy.

OfflineReally? I wonder if it's only visible on my comp then? And here I was thinking I was clever … that'll teach me to get too far ahead of myself. Hmm, back to the drawing board I guess.
PS. The blue-white swirly thing is a stylised yin-yang symbol.

OfflineI tried to d/l any avatar, but every time it said that the file was too big.
When I resized it to 50 X50, the max pixels, then even to 48 X 48 (if you go too small it won’t be any good), & the total KB were < 10,000 KB, mine was around 7000 K, it said that the file was too big. So I'll have to await the ever-present help desk to intervene!

@ yourpalal: Yeah, I had to try a few before I got one to work. I tried doing a manual pixel resize on a few of them, but that meant the gifs didn't work (for some obscure – or not-so-obscure but beyond my capacity – reason).
Hey phoenix_rising
It helps me to know that you had the same kind of problems; so where did you get this one & how did you get it to fit?
Thanks

Offline@ Karen: Why thank you, m'am!
@ yourpalal: I just did a Google search for animated avatars. I didn't bookmark them and can't remember the specific sites, I'm sorry to say. But there are plenty out there. Then I did what our esteemed techies Locutus and Karen advised (right-clicked on the images and selected "view image" and then copied and pasted the URL link the view image page. It was a bit different for the profile avatar and getting it to fit. I copied and pasted a number of animated gifs I liked and then it was trial and errror to get one to take. Oh, hang on, just found a site with my signature avatar, and it actually allows you to change the pixel size (http://www.avatarity.com/resize.php?aid=2554). You might want to check it out and see if you can find one you like and modify it directly there before downloading it.

Sorry to be off topic here, but given what you said, I saw in the news the other day that civil rights photographer Charles Moore had passed away last week. His photos are truly amazing. If you haven't seen them, check them out at http://www.viscom.ohiou.edu/oldsite/moore.site/Pages/index2.html
Long live the vision, hey.
