The 7-to-4 would be your best bet unless you could bend the correct pins to the correct places.

After doing a little research, it looks like a 4-pin male works with a 7-pin female. (Too bad you don't have this :( )

I assume that when you bent the pins you bent the center three?

Hi,

I've been trying to find a solution to my dilemma. I bought this device to use my laptop as a TV screen so I can play my xbox 360 on my laptop screen. It's called EzCap (www.ezcap.tv). It has RCA connectors and a s video connector and the RCA isn't any clearer than expected, but my laptop screen is HD and so I bought this wire that converts the component (red green blue) from the xbox to s video (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390286123067#ht_3515wt_1139).

I didn't realize that there existed s video wires with different numbers of pins so when I got the wire and connected it all up, I realized that it wouldn't fit the s video on the EzCap device! The s video portion of the component-to-s-video wire is a 7 pin male whereas the s video portion of the EzCap device is 4 pin female. I tried doing some research online and decided to bend the "extra" 3 pins to make it fit into the device, and whilst the quality of the xbox image on my laptop is clearer than the RCA image, the image is now black and white! I went into a computer store recently and explained my issue and the guy said I could get a converter to make the 7 pin convert to 4 pin s video and that my best bet would be to get help in a tech forum. So please help!

Thanks.
