Joji: Give it a break will ya!
You've posted rants about your dislike of the iPad numerous times before. Your opinion has been made clear.
Now let it die. At this point you're acting like a troll. Trolls get banned. Is that what you want?
Oh… k? I kinda don't get it, but interesting. Though for extra caution, buy like those cases for the back, because the back is REALLY scratchyable… or was it the front? Dunno, but for my DS Lite, I have full front and back hard plastic with reinforced rubber, special "peal-able" inside anti-scratch stickers and anti-scratch screen protectors.
I bought it 2 years ago and it still looks brand new! :D
BTW, Pop goes the wheezle! Wheezle hates me!
@joji – each to their own gadget-wise, I say. But the iPad hasn't been out of arm's reach since I got it (almost two months ago now). It's totally displaced my iPhone whenever wifi is available. It's almost displaced my very nice 17" HP laptop.
As for being worried about it being broken, I'm just not. I've never had a cover on my iPhone and it is just fine. Sure it doesn't look new, but I don't care. A scratch or two on the back doesn't affect how it operates. Same with the iPad. I think it is beautiful just the way it is. A scratch or two on the back won't change my enjoyment of it. Our gadgets are meant to be used not put on a shelf like a museum piece. And my two kids (2 and 6) have both played with the iPhone and iPad and neither gadget has been harmed.
Now Locu hates me! **sob**
Anyways… whoa, that's amazing Karen. Your iPad sure is durable… 'cause on some of the videos, they did a live demonstration and I saw it crack and all that. Hope your iPad will last for a long time! But be aware, you said you got it 2 months ago and it's still ok right? You know my parrent's cell phone? It looks awesome at first, but after 4 years, there were lots of scratches and it was too late for protective covers.
Besides, I bet there are those rubber grips covers that grips on your lap, table. or hand well. I dunno, but I recommend getting one so that your iPad will always look "new" every single year. Just like my shiny DS Lite that still looks "brand new out of the box".
Uhm… sorry if I'm annoying you Mrs. Karen, but I just like to help people with their tech stuff before anything "bad" happens to them. You get the point. :)
But I feel you should buy screen protectors. Here is the reason why:
1. don't you feel uncomfortable looking at scratched screen?
2. scratches permanent, unless you replace your screen
3. it's bad for your eyes when you look at scratched screens… right?
In Japan, there are tons of high quality DS screens and I was use them. I replace them every 2 years to make sure it's nice and clear! :D
Seriously, do it for you iPad! It has feelings! XD Of coarse, if you don't want, then that's fine with me. ;)
Oh… Karen… errr Mrs. Karen, since your'e a parrent… oh no wait, how about Auntie Karen? LoL. Uhm if your son(s) ever ask you the following, say no:
1. I want Halo
2. I want Call of Duty
3. I want a game console
Halo and COD are a big nono for your kids unless they are 14 years old at least. Why you say? Well my friends who are quite young developed mild violent behavior from playing Halo 3 ODST… hmm… not good at all. They weren't just mature I guess.
I got my first game console, well hand hell one at the age of 10. I begged a lot before my 10th birthday to get a game console, but my parents wouldn't let me. Though I guess that's optional. I mean you don't want your son to get addicted to those stuff. :) I actually have 3 DSs… The one I got for my 10th birthday was probably stolen, I don't know how. For a week, I was busy with homework. I remember keeping it on one of my shelves. I wanted to play one day, and couldn't find my DS anywhere. So I got a PSP instead and 2 years later, I got another DS Lite for free from those Shoppers Drug Mart points, then 2 years again later, I got a Wii and a DSi from Japan! :P Well only the DSi was from Japan, it was so cool! It's lime green and all that. But I don't recommend getting DSi systems from Japan since you can't switch the language to English. But for me, I don't care 'cause I can read Japanese.
Uhm… sorry for long post… I'm guessing it's kinda spam? Dunno, but atleast it's good advice right? What do you think. :D
@joji: your incoherence amazes me.
Anyway, I'd be surprised if I even have this iPad in 4years. It will be replaced with something new and better. And it will still be fine if it does get a few scratches. I'm not at all worried about it and since it belongs to me, there is no need for you to worry about it either.
Here is the thing. I know that Windows 8 will come out soon probably 2 years later or less, so I'm not going to buy Windows 7. I then know that iPhone 4G will come out soon, so I won't but the current iPhone 3G.
My rule of thumb: don't buy anything too early!
Remember Modern Warfare 2? Everyone was crazy about it! After a few months everyone went back to COD4 because too many people were using noob tube and commando in MW2.
Another example would be the Nintendo DS. Remember the first DS? After a year later, DS Lite came out!
BTW, your iPad is like your car. A new car will equal to approximately 7 years of using your current car. ( <— correct my grammar please) All those toxins and crap that contributes to making a new car is just BS! …and those advertisements on TV! Why should I buy a new car just because it's more "fuel efficient"?
So if you are thinking about getting iPad 2.0 and deciding on trashing your current iPad for less than 4 years, then I don't think that would be a good idea.
In my case, I think the world already suffered from too much resource lost. Think about all the process that goes into making the products we use everyday. Think about all the toxins and dangerous chemicals! Look at how much damage we have done to our world! Over 1/3 of the earth's resources are already gone (I think…)!
When I watched that video in Science class, I realized I shouldn't get an iPod Touch in order to replace my old Sony MP3 player.
Not everything I have in my home are new, most are old anyways. I hope that helps… sorry if I'm being annoying, errr I just wanted to help and give some suggestions as a teen in the new generation. :)
no, no I haven't.
