How is this not an illegal hack? Can I ask the admins to take a look at this. I think it's wrong.

i am not xpert about tis..mybe giveaway or hack?

tiz software have Anti-Malware?..
install at my laptop,no problem..Jv16 Power Tools 2010 is batter.
i like tis software.

I am not saying that it is "hack". I was asking question in terms of how would anyone be able to tell if it was hack. I get these notification all the time too. So I just wondered so I would know how to recognize a hack when I saw it.
Like you, I am not an expert either.

In a nut shell:
the 2010 version is not free. Using the license from a previous version to BYPASS the trial period is hacking. I haven't checked but probably the EULA forbids this.
I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't end well for Techno360. Unless they have the approval of the Developer… Then why not make the 2010 version free?
It's a hack.

@ belacan: The giveway was the 2009 version, which is not update-able to the 2010 version. This is a hack. And I doubt very much if the developers would appreciate it.

I think I understand now.
I read Gioneo msg and looked at the website
It appears that they are telling you to use a serial #/license # from the 2009 giveaway to get the 2010.
Gioneo is saying that this is just wrong and not good for the site that is promoting it.

I agree P_R, was just wondering if maybe Tech360 could possibly made an error and really does have a legit offer of some sort. Surely, as you say, should know better and would not try to pull a fast one. You think?

P_R I was not saying this offer was legit, it is obvisious that it isn't, I was saying maybe there was an error in this posting and his intentions was to post something else that would have been a legit offer. Was just trying to give the benefit of doubt.

I know this isn't the same thing, but has nayone noticed that the icon in the tab bar is in fact the Icon belonging to Stardock Objectdock?
I am right in seeing this as a "sort of" wrong doing? No one ios supposed to use another company's logo without their consent, and i doubt they have consent.
Difficult, to be sure…..but it shall be done!!

Removed this. This is not legit at all; I have talked to the developer myself about this issue and they have assured me this is unintended and will be fixed soon. Thanks P_R for reporting… I haven't been active on dotTech lately so I have been slacking on moderations.
@Locutus: The difference is I took the initiative to contact the developer to report the bug and get it fixed. I only posted about their response equated to, more or less, a "we don't care".
