Greetings DotTechies! I am partial to HP printers, and for years have used the bundled software for my scanning projects. Quick, simple, and most importantly, I knew and understood haow it worked – no learning curve for other software.

Unfortunately, HP does not have the software compatible with the new Windows 7 OS, which I have been using for some time. They have been putting off my queries with "Wait until the official release date", which occurred today, and now I have been officially informed that any new software will not be available until mid-November! (If then – I won't hold my breath).

So, the question I throw out to the group is "Does anyone have an opinion on any good scanner/OCR software?"
