Notice that a regular has been missing for a while? Wonder where I've been?

My computer's been totally busted since mid-August. (My main one, that is.) So, I've been forced to use just my 2005 Dell running Ubuntu. While that's perfectly good for most things, there is one that it isn't good for:

Writing articles for a Windows user site. Yell

Luckily, I finally have a firm grasp on what's wrong with my computer. Unluckily, it's that the charging port is busted and needs to be soldered back on. That's a $150 fix according to one place I've called so far.

So that's where I've been.  And why I won't be posting much for a while more.

Oh, the site that was :(

$150.00, ouch! Bummer. Computers are like electricity. We(or maybe just me) take them for granted until they stop working. Then it's freak out time.

PS I've seen XP Pro going for seventy five dollars. Would installing it on the Linux box be an option? Or maybe a dual boot?
