UTC/GTM -8 (PST). I have added a clear label at the bottom of dotTech now to show this.

I could be wrong but I know Karen that you are in USA & I infer Ashraf is too. I infer; I am not probing privacy.

There also appears to be a pattern of sorts in that “most of the posts” i.e. “modal value in statistics” revolve around the time based around USA & Western Europe. That is most posts are posted in daylight hours – daylight defined as USA or Western Europe.

I am inferring (just for fun!) that in relative terms there are fewer Indians and/or at least fewer Indians from India in our wonderful blog family.

Oh okay, with so many avataars all around the place it is hard to conclude that. This is just a funny & sportive inference.

It is unethical to even ask for everyone's email & deduce it from whether it is .us, .au, .in or whetever. That would be indiscreet & immature as well. Curiosity kills cats. I don't intend to be a cat.

@Ramesh:  I don't know anyone with a .us email.  We all use .com as ours… American for the win!

Having the label at the bottom is good.

One idea–not sure if it’s possible with your current setup–would be to have a profile item where someone can specify their prefered timezone and then all times are converted to this for display only purposes for each user.

On another annoying note, I’ve just found out that tinyMCE doesn’t work on the iPhone. I had to change my profile back to using plain text in order to post this.

And amusingly enough we also use tinyMCE to get rich text boxes at my job.

When it comes to timezones, unfortunately, Wordpress is very limited. You would think this sort of functionality would be built in. However, it isn't as far as I know. And, I have only found one plugin that can do this but it would only do this for the blog not the forums. In addition, it works off JavaScript, so it would add unnecessary load time so I don't think I want to add it.

Curiosity is absolute luck in having saved a backup to test a rival of what killed your computer.

I say this with as much jest as respect.

Usually when a cat is killed at least the “mouse” is happy. But if a comp is killed the “mouse” dies along with it.

Ashraf no app can ever get the better of you – so even the proverbial “mouse” always remains happy. Your comp can never die!

Your link is hilarious & at the same time takes all of us to a thread which is as hiilarious as it is sensible. Click, read, laugh.

I just did

I figured the timezone setting wasn’t something that you could do easily. No worries …
