OfflinedotTech.org is my #1 favorite site, even though I don't visit every day nor have I read everything on it. The thing I appreciate most is that I've come over the last year or so to trust Ashraf as much as I would a good friend. I've learned so much and saved so much money using his tips and recommendations.
For those of you who feel the same way, I might suggest you click on that "Support Us – Donate" button at the top of every dotTech.org page and send Ashraf a few bucks. The $5 or $10 donation I've been making every few months is hardly noticeable financially and I get so much more value than that. It's a bargin!

P.S. I just noticed there are 601 members to this forum (at this writing). If just half of those members donated $5 or $10 (or more if you can afford it) a few times a year, it may give Ashraf a decent income off this site and encourage him to continue on.

OfflineSince I am relatively new to the forums I am still stumbling my way around. There's an enormous amount of useful (and do I need to mention Free) information here that I could never have picked up left to my own devices. I almost feel guilty not contributing more than I did.
Here's the rub – I have a question and could not find the answer after what I considered to be a reasonably diligent site search. (Doesn't mean it wasn't staring me in the face mind you) And I did not see any category where it seemed to fit, so I picked this one.
A member invited me to PM him in one of the forums. I can't figure out how to do it. And I did not want to interupt that forum with that kind of post. Anybody feel like tutoring the newbie?
Thanks
PS – If you don't mind my asking, what's with the blue screen on the dialogue box?
OfflineGreetings all! I can't thank Ashraf enough for all his hard work. That he has developed a strong and loyal following is a testament to the heart, soul and integrity he puts into his work. But, as is often the case when people feel jealous or threatened, they target those like Ashraf who seek only to be a force for good in the world. I was angry (at first, then found it laughable) when during some random surfing a little while ago I saw this posted on another website (and, given their obnoxious behaviour in the past, it won't be too difficult to work out which one):
"GOTD.com is a commercial site – nobody will deny that. Due to its profile – daily software giveaways – an important software addicts community was formed there. Like in any community there are real members ( giving honest feedbacks and opinions ) … And ( sadly ) traffic hyenas – lowering dramatically the quality level of that community.
It looks like one or more Mods are doing wrong choices at GOTD. We doubt it but maybe our public and friendly request to reconsider this issue will help.
Like always a honest reaction can be described as a “hypocrite” one by – let’s say – a teenager “reviewer” … And “strongly sustained” by some clones … But we have also noticed a more and more important “isolation” of the cheater. A sign that adult readers are opening their eyes."
Sad group of people, that lot. I firmly believe that what goes around, comes around. And I hope no one out there takes a word that mob writes seriously. I prefer to see it as the ultimate form of flattery … when others want to take you down, you must be doing something right. So to the pathetic folk who misguidedly attempt to denigrate our boy, we laugh at you, we pity you and we hope that you will one day in the future exhibit the same moral fibre and goodwill as our esteemed web host.
Power on, Ashraf. You will always triumph.
OfflineOh my god, I was checking out what else that horrendous mob put up on their site … truly appalling. What is wrong with them??? The only "schizophrenia chrisis" (their inept spelling) I can see is the one they inhabit. But enough, it's not worth responding to.
I repeat, and will repeat it until I am blue in the face: Anyone who descends to such disgustingly low levels of abuse/denigration is the basest form of humanity. And anyone who follows such people should hang their bloody heads in shame.
You are doing all the right things, Ashraf. And you will always come out on top.
But wow, there are some less-than-choice individuals out there.
OfflineLOL!!!!!
They try to exploit the one opportunity when I have nothing to say about a giveaway.
To be honest Ozzie, they just provide entertainment for me now. Any objective viewer will understand the fact that they obviously feel threatened by the fact that my blog, which started off with one guy working hard now joined by many guest authors, contributors (in their own way) and a huge dotTech family, is out competing their blog, which was started by 4 people who are now joined by some guest authors.
Someone tell them to grow up; they should have learned from the past that attacking dotTech will earn them nothing but a headache.
OfflineJust to say thank you to Ashraf for all his efforts here and on GAOTD… im one of those habitual down loaders, and before Asraf posted regular on GAOTD and after he caught my attention and many others i would wait and see what he had to say, saved me down loading allot of …shall we say poor software..it at least gave me the opportunity to weigh the pro's and cons of potential downloads..
finding dot.tech org and Raymonds ccblog are a blessing..
The value of dotTech.org is outstanding for the beginner to the enthusiast always there is something to look out for and learn…
Good for you Ashraf thumbs up

Well, do my eyes deceive me??? …. I'm a "nerd" now!!!! And never a happier nerd was there!
Haha, I changed it just for you =).
Aw shucks … you're the best, you know!
And I'm glad that you're able to get a laugh out of the childish antics of the bitter brigade! It is comical, isn't it?!
