Hard drive of less than a GB. That wasn't that long ago. I think the first computer I had that actually had a hard drive was a 386 running Windows 3.0. And it's hard drive was considered fairly large at 40MB. And to install Borland C++ took 15 3.5 inch floppies.

My first computer was a Commodore 64 with no hard drives. And it was a really big deal when WordPerfect came out with a version that contained a WYSIWYG mode to check your work before printing it.

My first was 95. It was on a "top of the line" machine that now would barely pass for a high school calculator. Then we had 98, and ME. I remember I was kinda confused when my dad upgraded to XP and I had no idea what was going on XD. I never used a DOS, but I do remember with our ancient 95 laptop that we basically HAD to use discs for everything because the harddrive was so small. I don't remember, but it could very well have been less than half a GB.

That's a thought provoking question Locutus.

When I started thinking about it, I had a hard time remembering. But it finally came to me. I used AppleWorks. Then used AOL to connect to the internet. If I remember right. I think that's how I did it, I really didn't have any idea of what I was doing back then.

I know I used an Apple II-GS, with 2 disk drives (no hard drive at all), and had to load the program off the 5.3 (?) inch floppy disks every time I started the computer. I remember it was so cool, because I had a color monitor too!

We've come a long way...
