I looked up that processor on circuitcity.com and it doesn't appear to have a heatsink especially at the price of the processor. I did a search on 'am2+ heatsink' on circuitcity.com and most of the heatsinks range from $30 - $70. Although I don't know anything about them personally, this one got good reviews on the site for $40: http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4434989&CatId=493

Thanks for the response and I'm pretty sure everything would work. I already have a DVD drive from another computer. What I picked out is exactly what I want. And no, I dont need a card reader nor a bigger hard drive. The one thing I want to know is if I'll need to buy a fan for my processor.

Maybe it comes with the processor (or maybe not since it is OEM), but you need to make sure you have a heatsink/fan combo for the processor; this is in addition to any fans in the case. I don't know about current AMD processors, but they used to be known for running hot-especially important if you intend to overclock.

What about a DVD drive?

I assume the motherboard has USB ports on it, but do you have any need for a card reader?

A 250MB hard drive seems kinda small these days, especially if you have lots of music/video/photos.

I haven't built a PC in a while, but is there a problem mixing DDR2 on the motherboard and DDR3 on the graphics card?

I would suggest more memory if you can afford it especially if you are going to run a 64-bit OS.

Possibly an external HD (NAS or USB) so that you can back up your data.

There is no reason why it wouldn't work. You just have to make sure you've got everything accounted for. I assume your motherboards got a sound chip, and the towers got a cooling system, so it looks like your good.

I am going to build my own PC using these components:

AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Dual Core Processor - 2.80GHz, Socket AM2+, 2MB Cache, 2000MHz (4000 MT/s), OEM

Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500-Watt Power Supply

Seagate ST3250318AS Barracuda 7200.12 Hard Drive - 250GB, 7200, 8MB, SATA-300

XION Vantage Mid-Tower Case AXP100-001BK - ATX, mATX

Centon 2048MB Dual Channel PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB)

ASUS M4A77D AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - Xtreme Design w/ Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC)

SAPPHIRE 100256HDMI Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

I already have confirmation from 5 people that this will work but I want to ask just to make sure as everything costs money.
