I also have installed the 'CapsLockWarning Shortcut' as described in METHOD OPTION No.1 and have Win 7 (64). I read your post and immediately checked to find two 'important updates' waiting for installation. Guess which two they are?

Anyway, I created a manual restore point and also did an ERUNT backup of the registry, then installed them one at a time. No error messages so far! I will report back a) if any error messages appear or b) in a week or so if there is no occurrence.

Sorry to a ask basic question, but have you uninstalled the updates using Windows own update installer? (Route is Control panel -> Windows Update -> Installed Updates (bottom LH corner of window) then find suspect update and 'right click' it.) If you have uninstalled them using Crystalidea's Uninstall 3.01, you may need to re-install them and then use this method! If that doesn't clear it, then try removing CapsLock, cleaning the registry with CCleaner, rebooting and then re-installing CapsLock. If the problem still persists, then either change your Capslock indicator (there are others), or start removing other updates and any other recently installed software one-at-a-time, in reverse time order. A mega-task!

Good hunting.

P.S. I've just found a site offering a 'Error Fix Tool' at: http://www.errorteck.com/good-to-know/features-and-benefits/runtime-errors.html

I have no experience of the app or the site, so proceed with caution!

P.P.S Sorry, the above tool is: "ErrorTeck" and is shareware. It installs, scans and then reports 1195 of 'errors', but only fixes 11. It then demands $40 for the registration and fixing of all other 'errors'!

Hi Rob,

I wonder if you can help me?

I started to have problems today with 'Capslockwarning 2.5', after many months 'Trouble Free' Usage.

It may be coincidental, but my problems appear to have occurred after 2 recent Microsoft Security Updates.

These Updates are as follows;

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2656356).

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656351)

I am running an Intel Core i3 4.07GHz Processor that has been 'OverClocked' and Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit), Operating System with 16Gb DDR3 677MHz Memory.

Being Windows 7, I have installed the 'CapsLockWarning Shortcut' as described in METHOD OPTION No.1.

I keep getting a "Runtime Error 75 - Path File Access Error"

I have enclosed a Screen Shot Link to help you further.

Link:-

I have even Cleared the 'System.ini' File and using Crystalidea's Uninstall 3.01 & have Uninstalled All previous Evidence from my Primary Hard Drive, as well as the Internally connected USB Hard Drive that this was Downloaded to and then Re-downloaded this again, Rebooted and made sure I followed your Easy Instructions.

By the way Crystalidea's Uninstall 3.01 Removes all Previously Installed Data, including any Registry Entries.

Despite all this effort in trying to effect a Remedy myself, the Problem still exists and I can't help now wonder if these 2 Microsoft Security Updates are the Cause of this issue.

Can you suggest a Remedy please?

Oh Yes, My CLW Settings are as follows;

Duration:- 1600,

Frequency:- 1400,

Warning:- 5 Times,

Screen Position:- Bottom,

Text Colour:- Black,

Warning Frequency:- Medium.

Many Thanks in Advance.

James
