By the way I was never able to install any firewall properly until I fixed the problem with my computer. I had to change the permissions on the Enum key in the registry. It had the wrong permissions so device manager showed empty and couldn't install new devices. But after changing them, you can easily search google for a few of those key words to find out how if you need to, everything went perfectly.

Person A may get one result but person B will get something else; this is especially the case with security software. It all varys depending on how the benchmark was conducted, the computer specs, computer files, etc.

Yes I understand that very well... of coarse you don't lie. You never lie. When was the last time you lied? Never. Exactly.

The magazines on one of my issues' said the newest version of AVG is terrific, but the downside is its 24 secound add time when the system boots.

comprehensive :-) [note: tests are being run on the 'default' setting for each AV]

looking at it, Avast! seems to be faster than most of the others (3rd quickest on the first full scan, 7th on the second full scan)

personally speaking, I used Avast! (free version) to replace AVG (free) on a older (slower) computer and while I haven't taken notice of the scan times (it's not the one I use), it does not affect/slow down that computer as much as AVG did while scanning (ie: no more complaints about how that computer slows down when the scanner was running).

I did the same on a not-so-old computer that I do use and the scan times don't seem that bad (i'd say they are faster then when that computer had AVG Free on it).

Avast is a great AV program, but it has a somewhat "slow" scanning rate. But it's still not bad!

Comodo in the other hand has privacy issues. If you read their privacy statement, it states how they have the right to collect the data usage of their products. What's worst is that there aren't any "no" option to it.

Read this: /freeware-reviews/16621

Comodo isn't BEAST... in my opinion that is. Probably to many other techies around here. In fact, a lot of us hates Comodo. Personally, I never tried Comodo products before, but since a lot of people are saying it sucks that much, I decided not to go for it. :)

Mind if I suggest you Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware? It's a great AV program specialized in detecting malware! It's free... but some extra features are for the paid version only.

I hope that helped!

Hi Ashraf

I can't believe it's taken me so long to join your site !!! :o)

Anyway - I'm here to say that I'm actually REALLY HAPPY with COMODO Internet Security & I have been for a couple of years.

I admit it does have a couple of issues BUT these can easily be worked around. I've found that running the "Defence+" system can seriously slow my Laptops down & I use Avast Anti-Virus for LIVE protection & have the COMODO Anti-Virus as a backup & weekly scans. This is because COMODO AntiVirus has a high Faulse-Positive count. IF Avast AGREES with COMODO - I know it's an infect - otherwise I submit as a Faulse Positive ( an excellent feature ) or an exclusion. Instead of "Defence+" - I run PC Tools "Firewall Plus" which runs much lighter. As a result of thi combo - I'm very happy with the outcome :o)

I'm running Win 7 on 1 PC & 1 Laptop & XP Pro SP2 ( with Win 7 GUI Transform Pack ) on another PC & 2 other Laptops - They ALL run COMODO I.S. perfectly & I really can't understand what would be causing your trouble 'coz it's not something I've come across & I install COMODO on EVERY MACHINE I work on !!!! I'd be interested to find out where the clash is occurring.

I also use several of the other COMODO softwares including System Cleaner & the best bit is ALL of the programs I get from them ARE FREE !!!!!!! . . . Who doesn't like FREE ??? :o)

                                          Cheers for now m8

I also did a search on this site and found a forum thread based on Comodo Products. I believe the thread name was "Comodo Firewall should really burn in a big fire"... somehting like that. There was a small rant saying how many of the dot.techies hated Comodo products since they screwed up their system many times. LoL... yep. I wonder how Comodo is going to make money like this... what Comodo is doing right now is very unethical. Not good at all.
