How do you remove Avira popup?

I have tried the boot in safe mode etc.. method but I still get the popup. Are there any other ways of getting rid of it? I'm running XP Home Sp3.

To be totally honest, I have yet to even try to remove it myself so I don't know. I have just learned to deal with it whenever it shows up.

I am surprised you have not removed Avira's popup despite the fact there is an article here on Dottech regarding this 'issue':

I know the article is originally authored by Liam K but it really is a good article…the methods listed really works…

To amnesia,

try this:

Run the command "cacls “%SYSTEMDRIVE%Program FilesAviraInsertpathavnotify.exe” /e /d Everyone" to change the rights without restarting. Everyone can be exhanged with another user account when needed

Take note:

Before giving up, try setting a restriction on avnotify.dll as well.

Thanks hahaguy, Tried the first one but that hasn't worked. i don't know how to set restriction on avnotify.dll. I'll give that clickoff programe ago.
