What OS are you on? I know on Vista/Win7 you can set each network you connect to as "public" or "private" and your file sharing is turned on/off and configured according to what if you are on a "public" or "private" network. I havn't used XP in a long time so I don't know if it does that also.

Otherwise, you can try Hotspot Shield.

Hello,

First excuse me for mistakes that might occur, but English is not my mother tale.

I have a desktop and a laptop. In my home every 2 to use the router by Wifi for access to ADSL. Thise private networkis protected by a firewall. In addition, via Ethernet connection on the router, my TV Sony 40W5500 also has network access to content and medias of the PCs.

On weekends, I find myself outside my home where a public WiFi network is accessible to my laptop.

My question: given the configuration of this laptop to enable sharing on my private network, is there a risk that its files are also accessible to other users of the public network. If so, how to set up "simply" (via a software ?) the PC laptop to make it protected in use in public Wifi network and not in the private network?

Thank you all

Thank you very much
