OfflineDrumguish, that is absolutely possible. That is if you aren't installing it, but restoring your backup it with the same program you used to back it up(Ex: Paragon Disk Backup). If what you mean by "take a backup of entire disk with XP-32" as in to actually make an entire disk backup of your WinXP x32, then all your programs should still be in your backup. For example however, if you took just a partial backup of just the windows settings, program files, but not the registry, then your programs would still be there, but not registered.
gzwict, well, the thing with GOTD is that they only let you register once, and that one time would be the day that it was given away. So, (if you are installing Windows 7 from scratch) it's really not possible or at least really hard to reinstall and re-register. You would be able keep the programs if you are just upgrading to Win7, and if you are lucky, the registration data (usually in Windows Registry) would still be there.
You may be able to find registration data (before you upgrade) in the Registry (Somewhere in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE or HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware) – Look around or use Search, you may be lucky.
You can avoid re-registering problems when you first install the program using programs like Revo Uninstaller.
