I was finally able to uninstall the touchpad using Device Manager - a deeper level than uninstalling just the driver. The laptop tried several times to reinstall the thing, but I was finally able to delete the files from Program Files (they had been locked), so there were no more files for the system to reinstall. With the touchpad finally disabled, WizMouse is back in all its functioning glory.

 

It was literally writing the post here that triggered the idea to go into Device Manager to get rid of the touchpad at that level, and WizMouse is now back! Happy BearPup!

I have disabilities and its vital that I get this program working again. The problem is that my touchpad has taken control of the "mouse properties" so that even with the Touchpad Driver uninstalled, the touchpad and pointing stick, and their buttons, remain active.

With the touchpad active 2 problems occur: 1) my accessibility software cannot take control of my mouse; and 2) the pointer jumps all over the screen, and the buttons get 'pushed' without my wanting that to happen.

 

So what I'm needing is to disable the touchpad and pointing stick without using a driver to do that. I'm using a Dell Latitude D630, running Win 7, 64 bit, Home Premium, with an external mouse attached via a USB port. The mouse itself works fine, and its driver is native to Windows, but I can't find a touchpad device in the same fashion.
