OfflineI have two desktops at home, sometimes while slow at work I would like to study on-line with streaming video, study using PDF files, use some Cloud storage, watch other streaming media, not much for gaming at this time, and perhaps use some Oovo for video talking. I believe I could plug in USB storage when needed using either a hard drive or flash, I understand the Asus is a good brand, we have wi-fi at work and I also have it at home with my router or plug into my home network-I have a Linksys router. Thanks for any help, I really would like to keep under $400

I might have to bite on this, the sale ends today! This will be my first laptop.
OfflineHonestly if all you are looking to do is "study on-line with streaming video, study using PDF files, use some Cloud storage, watch other streaming media, not much for gaming at this time, and perhaps use some Oovo for video talking" then you may want to consider http://dottech.org/85074/would-you-buy-a-11-6-inch-laptop-running-chrome-os-aka-chromebook-for-249/. Aside from Oovo (I don't know if Oovo is supported on Chrome OS), it can do all of what you want at a very cheap price -- $249, which you may not even have to pay sales tax on if you buy through Amazon.
OfflineThank you for the reply, I didn't bite on the Asus yesterday, the reason being I wasn't sure it would be powerful enough. I did see the Chromebook article here before and with 3g it might be the answer, I was looking for something smaller to carry around and it seems most of my computing is online anyway, I also read the comments section which I think help too, I already have several Cloud based storages thanks to dot Tech so it may be the way to go. It might be awhile but I will post back when I buy, this purchase isn't necessary but it would make some things easier.
I wonder if I get the Chromebook with the 3g network if I could use a phone with the same 3g network?
Chromebook 3g comes with 100mb/month from Verizon for two years included, I just called a Verizon salesperson, it appears I would have to pay $170/month for phone and internet, right now I pay $100 which includes tax for the same amount of service, too much for me right now, maybe that $249 Chromebook would be the best for me.
