more windows logon problems

My windows installation has changed the logon and shutdown screens to the old 95/98 type,any idea how to change it back to normal?

Well if you want to you can download software like Tuneup Utilities or WinLogon and use it to change it to what you want.

You are using Windows XP, right?
If you are wanting the Welcome Screen that you normally get when you login, but only sees the login window instead; go to Control Panel, User Accounts, then on "Pick a task…", click "Change the way users log on or off". The rest should be relatively simple.

changing the way users log on does not work and tune up utilities is what I have been using but now something seems to be over-riding it P.S. using winXP pro service pack 3

I used to get that in Windows XP Home. Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete once. If a dialog box pops up asking if you want to lock, open Task Manager, or do some other stuff, then it's the same checkbox I had to press. I just can't for the life f me remember the name of said checkbox.

not getting the dialogue box when I press control/alt/delete mate.Can't understand it.Trying to remember what if anything I have changed but can't remember changing or installing anything

but it has solved my problem so I will accept not having a fancy personalised boot screen and logon screen
Thanks for all advice and help.Any suggestions on boot screen and logon screen creators/installers would be appreciated though.
