My advice to you is, decide which would suit you better, the traditional desktop interface like in Windows 7 or the new Metro interface.

 

There are also rumors around that if you purchase a new pc from June 2, the Windows 8 upgrade disc will only cost $15. This would be good if you buy a Win7 pc now and later decide you want Win8. It sounds to me like your best bet would be to buy it now, since you need it now.

It's your decision, but when I was in the same quandary before Win 7 came out.  I was using Win XP but I chose Vista (horrible) + Win 7 upgrade.  

It cost me an extra $15, but for this I got a valuable installation disc NOT the crippled Manufacturer's restore disc.

This installation disc is vital for carrying out "safe/upgrade" installs, which are vital when Win gets nasty and needs re-installation.  A "safe/upgrade" installation retains valuable, hard to replace applications (GOTD goodies for instance).

Ensure that the upgrade is part of the deal and that it will be a Microsoft installation disc.

And another problem, once I buy a windows 8 laptop at that time, if there is a way to reset forgotten windows 8 password for I am the person who like to set a windows password. I ask online and some people tell me that there is and there are. The software that is used to recover windows 7 password must update to a more powerful edition to reset windows 8 password. even now, some versions of windows 8 has been released, like windows 8 developer preview, windows 8 consumer preview and windows 8 release preview. Many computer users have already used windows 8. Exactly the tools for windows 8 password recovery are already existed. And the usage is almost the same as other windows versions.

Also, there is a graphical password of user account that computer users can use it to log on windows and reset password for the locked account. Whatever, it is hard to fail to reset windows password if you forget it.
