I have bought a digital TV receiver and have recorded some .trp files on a harddisk drive, with most of them being HD (1920×1080).

Can anyone suggest a way to play these files without converting them?

Try Auto Gordian Knot at http://www.autogk.me.uk/

It’s free and it installs nicely. Converts .trp from FTA into AVI and
can manipulate or create DVD from there. The program “looks” like it
hangs when you try and do the conversion but you need to let it run and
do it’s thing to demux. It might take an hour or so of “just waiting”
but it’ actually working.

Cheers.

@ Locutus,

What if I don’t want to convert the file? That is, play the source file?

Unfortuantely, I don’t have any first-hand experience with TRP files.  I can’t help you any further than a quick Google.  Sorry Cry

I’ve looked around on google a bit, and it seems that you have to use something to convert the file.

It’s okay, you don’t have to cry Laugh

Anyway, I’ve found the solution to the problem! It’s in the form of K-Lite Codec Pack plus the KMPlayer. The KMPlayer looks really cool actually. Thanks for the feedback.

Glad you got it all sorted out.  Now, write an article about it for future reference. :D
