the official samsung downloads site does not offer a software to run the camera. The camera does function properly. It works well with Skype and YM.

Is there any software that can be used to open the camera without using messaging softwares like skype, YM, and the likes?

Like the Acer crystal eye webcam in acer laptops for example (if you are familiar with it) where you can just run it and take pictures/video.
