You could always try seeing if a backup program could access the data directly or use a bootable CD, boot up into it, and see if you can access any of the info from that. If you can you might be able to copy it somehow to another HD. If you don't have a bootable CD you can try the link and info posted in this post:

I had the problem in this thread and it was also partially caused by the keyboard not working so I couldn't delete the system restore info as easily as I should have been able to. If anyone needs more info they can look at this post and see if there is info there that I haven't posted in the thread we are in now. But anyway hopefully this enable you to solve the problem. Of course you may just have to replace the disk and lose all the data on it if the disk is damaged or corrupted in some way.

I have been having a problem with my drive recently. The hard drive will not read it on the computer and only pops up with looking for the driver and looked for it on the internet it found it and installed. After that this disk popped up saying it was called" Local Disk E " and i couldn't access it and the computer started frezzing. I restarted the computer, the computers fine but still couldn't access it. I remember hearing this sound from it making this clicking sound that might help. This morning I looked infomation on the drive and this is what i found :

http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1708/p/228,195,330/c/123/session/L3RpbWUvMTMwMDM3NjM3MS9zaWQvc3lUZEk5cGs%3D

From what I read it says that there is no driver for it online but its all on the drive and if you can't get the computer to read the drive it has failed or been damaged.

Anyone have any ideas whats happening and how can I fix it or do I have to get a new drive from the warrent I brought at the store?

Is there a way to recover the infomation?

Thanxs, Gibbster
