If you boot from the original install cd, there should be a recovery/repair option. I would try letting XP repair itself.

You mean the disk that came with my computer right? And what if it just had the same pop up again? (which is what happened) was i supposed to click recovery options on startup?

 

btw: this site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-u.....56856.aspx says you just have to click ok…….but when i do, the computer doesn't continue to start up :(

*also i'v read a lot of other places that say like run disk scan or something to do with editing the registry......i can't do anyof that because my computer wont even log in......
