OfflineYesterday, having been plagued by mysterious threats announcing that the version of Vista 64 Home Prem was about to expire, I bit the bullet and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Prem. All went reasionably well, until I discovered that try as I might, I couldn't and cannot get the new OS to recognize my Seagate 500GB ext drive, which contains material that I would like to access, duh.
The drive appears to be working fine, and is easily read and accessed on my Vista 32 Home Prem laptop.
Does anyone here have any thoughts?
Go to Computer Management (type that into the start menu) and click on "Disk Management" under "Storage" and see what's there:
Somewhere there should be something like your external disk. If it's there, click on it in the lower portion of the screen and right click and select Change Drive Letter and Paths:
Click "Add" and select Assign the following drive letter, and select a letter from the list :
Click OK, and good luck!
