Regular dotTechies should know about Ashampoo Burning Studio – it is one of the entries in the "Best Freebies" section of the sidebar.

Now Ashampoo are releasing the new version of ABS – v10 – and you can grab the beta version for free until 26 May, 2010 by clicking on this link I found in one of their regular "service letters".

http://r.ashampoo.com/r.php?id=41092&ri=zerb&u=9741947&lk=YiPJrkY8

The download is already the installer – no regkey needed. And the beta version is for life, but upgrades/updates are not available.

This is another example that you should make a new email account exclusively for Freebies (and Ashampoo ones) instead of using a trash email address to register – there are regular goodies in the newsletters and they are not all spam.

I just use my regular gmail address for aShampoo and set up a rule to automatically filter them to a folder. That way they don't clog up my inbox and I can look at them when I want.

I don't know about this software specifically, but usually aShampoo give the year (i.e, 2010) designation to their watered down software and the v99 designation to their for sale software.

@Karen: I do the same except for the fact that I use Yahoo Mail instead of GMail. [since before GMail was out, around 2001 I think]

I got this news letter also and checked out the offer, however I have Ashampoo® Burning Studio 10 and I did not see a significant difference for me

It states

  • Completely

redesigned DVD and Blu-ray video disc editor

  • All

authoring tools improved – easier and more powerful than ever

  • Create

HD and Full HD Blu-ray video discs (720p and 1080p)

  • Create

auto-starting data discs with interactive menus

  • Integrated

Audio Player – play audio CDs directly

  • Even

    better video encoding quality

  • New

and improved themes for DVD and Blu-ray menus

  • Use

included themes or build your own menus

  • New

audio ripping functions, improved audio track organization

  • Starts

    faster, snappier to use

I have the full version. What would be the advantage of getting a beta version?

I get confused on all the types of freebies.Confused

Anyone care to clarify  the different versions  ie beta version  full version     lifetime use .

Iinstall the same for the link provided above but it says that the program is only free for 10 days. Cry

Am i doing something wrong. I installed it with Ashampoo Burning studio version which is listed on the freebie section. Do i have to uninstall the previous one?
