OfflineWhile looking around for something else, I saw that Process Explorer has been updated.

I've used this (free :-) program for a while now. It's much better at 'killing' a frozen program than using XP's Windows Task Manager and and has many useful features (change priority of a program/task etc)
One thing I really like about it is you don't need to install it, just run it from the .exe file (I have shortcuts to it on my desktop), and that mean it runs direct from a USB flash memory stick
.
Offline@ Grantwhy: I started using Process Explorer a few months back after seeing some very good reviews of it. I'm now a convert. It's a fantastic program, and being able to run it without installation is a great feature. Thanks for the info on the update. I'm going to download it right now.
Offline@ Ebony: Nope. Give it a try. I highly recommend it, for what that's worth. And you don't have to install it, so there's no having to uninstall and remove any leftover components if you decide you don't like it. It really is a good prog.
OfflineThanks! I've definitely used this program a lot. Makes me wonder why Microsoft didn't just include this program with Windows rather than the default task/process manager. I don't know if Microsoft owned it at the time XP came out, but they do now and so could have included it in Win7 at the least.
