The diff betwn 9 and 9A seems primarily cover stuff. If I don’t need the cover tools and just want a good burner, does the “Improved performance and compatibility” warrant the 9A?

Just realised that what I wrote above could be confusing and ambiguous.

By ‘negotiate through two emails’ I meant I had to pick my way through the German to find the link in their first email, and then the reg code in their second email.

OK, that’s all square now.

It’s now 25 September and I’ve just managed to get my Reg code from them after downloading the app. Haven’t installed it yet.

Had to negotiate through 2 emails in German which I got sent to Mailinator.com. They arrived there in the blink of an eye.

All a bit complicated but worth it if the software is good.

Click to edit doesn’t seem to be working.
Forgot to say, I’ve been using ashampoo since 2004, and I’ve always used my yahoo address with no problems.
Also if you log into ashampoo, click on My Service Letters, and untick everything.

This version is 2009, the ones for sale on ashampoo are 8 and 9.
Comparing this to 8, the only difference I can see is 8 can “Create a video DVD” and “Create a photo slideshow DVD.”
And these are the new features in 9,
* New Movie Editor and Movie Player
* Play all videos, slideshows and movies in the new Movie Player
* New project type: Video Edit DVD with Movie Editor
* Create MP3 or WMA CDs from lists of tracks with multiple formats

I get so confused with Ashampoo’s constantly changing products and revisions and upgrades.

I *think* I had the burning Studio 2009 but then ditched it in favour of another, later version complete with really awful crapware about making album covers and DVD slideshows (the slideshow stuff was dreadful, not a patch on Photostory 3.)

So I uninstalled the all new all singin’ dancin’ version, couldn’t find the original, and now have no Ashampoo at all. Life doesn’t seem any the worse for it though. . .

Humorously, I just received an upgrade offer from Ashampoo from a last version of this software, for $10 or so …
