Ever come across a website where you thought "wow those are great images" (usually on a digital art of photography website) and then proceeded to save them all to your computer one by one? Well save your self the pain of having to do that next time around by using OpenImage:
OpenImage is an open source and portable software which allows you to download all the images (JPG, PNG, GIF, and BMP) from a URL you specify:
You are given the option to filter out which images to download by image type and size (resolution). Unfortunately during my testing I found out the "MinimumSize" and "MaximizeSize" filters do not work properly; however filtering by image type works just fine.
OpenImage is really as simple to use as it sounds. However one thing to keep in mind when trying to download images is some websites use thumbnails for images and you have to click on the image to get the full size. OpenImage, unfortunately, will download the thumbnail and not the full image. Hopefully in the future the developer will add the ability to automatically detect thumbnails and download the full image.
Last thing I would like to point out is you have the option to automatically rename the images you download:
While I agree this software will vary in useful from person to person and situation to situation I think it is worth the download if you think you will need it especially considering it is a standalone and portable app (431 KB) so you do not have to install anything.

Ok,
I feel dumb again, because it says that it’s a ” Zip File,” and it downloads as an ” ASPX File.”
Can somebody please tell me how I’m supposed to open this one up?

@justnakenny: Ummm that is weird. It downloads a .ZIP for me. Plus .ASPX is not even a file extension as far as I know; it is a the extension for a webpage if you use ASP.NET to develop it.
What browser are you in?

I’m using IE 5.5, since my system is old ” WinME,” like I am.
Google says that I can open it with notepad and I can, but that just allows me to read it and not use it.

@justnakenny: Wouldn’t just renaming the file to a .zip extention work, or am I missing something? (I’ve been known to miss a lot of things in my life.)

Sorry, I was trying to redo my hard drive to see if that would help.
Ok, I just tried renaming it to .zip and now it tells me that there aren’t any files to extract. But if I right click it, it still shows the original 86.5kbs are still there.

@justnakenny: I am pretty sure it is because you are using IE 5.5. I suggest you either upgrade to IE 7/8 or get Firefox. I know you said you have an old computer but they should run just fine imo.

But I already have IE6 on my computer and it won’t even let me upgrade to it. It tells me that my Browser has an incomplete process going on { OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT } and that I have to log off and restart Windows before I can upgrade it. But that seems to just be a joke because it gives me the same message the next time I restart my computer.

Be sure you have any programs that use IE shut down, such as email, messengers,etc. Then try upgrading IE. You may still need to restart first, if so, before you restart you should disable these items on your startup menu using msconfig. To get to msconfig click on run, type msconfig, click ok, in msconfig click on startup tab and uncheck the entries you want to disable. Don’t delete them, just uncheck them. Then when you’re done updating IE you can go to msconfig and recheck them so they,ll restart on your next startup if you want them to. Then try downloading OpenImage again.
