Ashraf,
Hi, this is the developer (Daniel) of TubeHoarder from static-ware.com.

Firstly a great big thank you for your impartial evaluation and in-depth review, despite being given a thumbs down for TubeHoarder in it's present state. It's ok I can take it. =)

I appreciate the effort you've gone to in describing the pro's and draw backs associated with the current version.

Without valuable input like yours, developers like me (who are relatively new to the software market), can blindly create software that will never have its full potential realized.

It is obvious what modifications TubeHoarder and my other software need to satisfy the expectations of users in general and compete with existing market options.

I really just wanted to thank you for that. =) I also look forward to any future reviews you conduct with my software.

Cheers

Ashraf, tubemaster++ is also another great freeware alternative. It uses java and WinPcap technology to capture incoming video packets from streaming sites. I mentioned this last time on this website. There's also a built in search engine for mp3's and videos. Last but not least, even though it captures videos in .FLV format, you can automatically convert them into AVI, MPEG, MP3, MP4, IPod, PSP and more... Definitely worth mentioning!

@Steve: You are welcome =)

@Steve: Don't worry about it =).

@Jonson: I know with Ashampoo ClipFinder you can simply type in the URL of the YouTube page and the video will download. So, in your case, if you just right click + copy the link URL and paste it into Ashampoo ClipFinder it should download it for you just fine. If that doesn't work you may give DownloadThemAll a try; though I don't know if DTA will work or not becuase I have not used it.

Hope that helps.

We need a program to download linked videos without opening the page.

In YouTube, if I see a display of 20 video thumbnails, and I want to download all of them, I have to load each page, and then go to each page, download, and close each page. FlashGot would work if the links were to the videos themselves, but the links are to each video's webpage, so FlashGot doesn't work (as far as I know).

Does anyone have the answer?

Now all I have to do is read and comprehend your Final Verdict and I would see VideoCacheView. So much for intelligence on my part.

Ashraf,

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your consistantly unbiased reviews. Over the last 11 to 12 months I have quietly read the comments and observations on GOTD (generally drivel) and then go to your reviews to really get a feel for what that day's offering is. Based on your review (and maybe some of the "intelligent" GOTD comments) I will decide if I want to try the software. For the most part I can rely on your evaluations to make an informed decision.

Now for a question. Occasionally I could use a program like this. But based on your review, I don't think this is the right one for me. Of the "Free Alternatives" you list, do you have a preferance or recomendation? I am interested in being able to grab a video and saving it to my HD and then being able to retrieve it for later viewing or copying it to another file.

Again, thank you for your valuable insights. Keep up the good work!
