I am a regular to many forums on the internet. One of the forums happens to be NotebookReview.com (excellent website if you need help on buying a notebook by the way... I learned so much from them). I just saw a post there on how one of NBR's members ordered a 10FT long power cable from HP. The power cord was shipped from Shanghai, China (to somewhere in Australia) in a plastic wrapped box with another box inside. The outside box was strapped to a wooden pellet. What the heck? Talk about conserving trees... Gooooo Captain Planet!

Now I believe this was not shipped directly from HP but rather from one of their contractors (not 100% sure though). However feel free to bash HP below.

My wife sells Avon, and their shipping department pulls similar stuff. They’ll send a big box containing 5 small catalogues, and 3 items that would fit in your pocket.

HP is one of the computer manufacturers who do not what they do! my tablet/laptop from them is a piece of crap in terms of performance (read my review at HP, easy to find if you select “newest 1st”). with win7 RC, it is a little better than with vista, however, it is still slow, heats up terribly, having crappy battery life (did i say it is hell of heavy for a 12″?). HP recommended HDD/RAM test (passed), windows and BIOS updates (done), using in a new a/c (tried), killing start-ups and, now, they want me to format when i have installed whole bunch of academic programs! what the heck!

Hey! What a great idea! Instead of dealing with costly recycling, countries can now ship off their waste cardboard, plastics, etc. overseas and get the recipients to pay for it too!
A little like the US gov’t sending off our nuclear wastes (depleted uranium) and spreading it around Iraq and Afghanistan. Pure genius!

I wonder how much they charged for shipping? I was thinking it was bad enough if they left it at the front door of a house, pretty funny it was delivered to an apartment. LOL
