PDF to Image

Giveaway of the day for November 18, 2008 is PDF to Image.
[rssless]-------------------------

If you are getting "File not found: pdf2image.dll" error, try the following:

  • If you are a Vista user, Run as Administrator (this fixed the problem for me).
  • If you are a non-Vista user, or if the above did not help you, try Rebooting your computer (thx Bubby).

If none of the above makes the program work for you, you can try the following as a last resort. I just thought of it, and PDF to Images is working for me, so I have not tested it, but this may work (someone post back if it does please!):

  1. Download PDF2ImageSetup.exe from here.
  2. Run and install PDF2ImageSetup.exe.
  3. Run Setup.exe that comes in the pdf2image.zip file you downloaded from giveawayoftheday.com and install in the same directory you entered for PDF2ImageSetup.exe (if you left it as default, leave it as default)
  4. Test to see if the program works.

Full Review

PDF to Image is a very simple program. Install it and run it (Vista users you must Run as Administrator or else you will get an error! It took me an hour to figure that out). The program works well, and it is quick.

When you run the program for the first time, your initial window will look like this:

Pretty self explanatory.

This is the settings window:

Again pretty self explanatory.

The third tab (progress) looks like this before you do anything:

And this after you converted something:

Here are a few things I converted:

Someone on giveawayoftheday posted "only can convert the first page of the pdf document". I successfully converted a 3 page PDF (see the third PDF | Image pair above).

PMnet Verdict: If you need it, keep it.
