[1]While the Samsung Galaxy Ace II e might not be leading the way as one of the premier flagships in the world for the Android operating system, it is still commands respect. The main downfall apart from the mediocre specs is the Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system. You can change all that by opening up the ports with root access and allowing your device to install apps from the Google Play store, custom ROMS from various third-party developers and more.
REQUIREMENTS
You must turn on the smartphone and navigate to the App drawer. Now tap on the Settings app and check the model number phone under the About Device section. The model number should read SGH-T599V.
Stay looking at the same About Device section and check the software version reads Android 4.1 Jellybean. Do not install the file if you are running something new.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
- Enable USB Debugging mode from the Developer Options if the device has the menu hidden from the Settings.
- Sometimes the Developer Options menu is hidden unless you unlock it. Try tapping on the build number seven times and go back to the Settings. Now look for the Dev options menu.
- You must download the Samsung USB Drivers for the computer here [2].
- Rooting the internal hardware voids the warranty if you have any left. You have to return the device back to stock Android with bloatware for the warranty to work again.
- You must have the Unknown Sources option enabled from the Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
- Without a warranty you cannot send the handset away for repairs for free. You can still send it away but it will cost you money.
- You can try finding solutions yourself or free by visiting the XDA Developers forums.
HOW TO ROOT THE SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE II e iN ANDROID 4.1 JELLY BEAN
- Download the Cydia Impactor here [3].
- Save the file to the desktop of the computer.
- Choose the correct operating system version from the file.
- Connect the device to the computer via USB cable.
- Run the Cydia Impactor file by clicking the mouse over the executable file.
- Pick the option that says # drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su from the menu.
- Click the start button.
Great! Now wait until the file stops rooting the device. If it doesn’t reboot automatically you should reboot it yourself. Now you are set to visit the Google Play store and start installing apps.
