How to get free document templates for Google Docs [Tip]

Have you ever thought of creating different types of documents using Google Docs? Not only does it let you save your work automatically to Google Drive, it also provides you with a wide variety of document templates so you no longer need to create a document from scratch. One good example of this is the post I’ve made about creating a resume in Google Docs.

Now, what if you want to gain access to other free document templates that aren’t just limited to letters and resumes? If that’s what you want, then you can go ahead and read this post.

How to get free document templates for Google Docs

  • First, log in to your Google account.
  • Next, click here to access the free public document templates for Google Docs.
  • On the public templates menu, you’ll see different template types and categories. There are templates for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms, drawings, etc. You can also sort out the templates according to what you need. For example, you can find templates for business, personal finance, resumes and cover letters, legal, statistics, calendars and schedules, etc. There are even templates for certificates, diplomas and press release.
  • So what you need to do next is to choose a template from the list.

  • Once you’ve chosen a template, just click the “Use this template” button right under it.
  • If you want to preview the template first, just click the “Preview” link.

  • So that’s it. The template will be loaded in a new tab via Google Docs so you can just edit and rename the template to make it as your own.

  • Now, if you want to access your previously used templates, just go back to the templates catalog and then click the “Templates I’ve used” tab. There, you’ll be able to find all of the templates that you’ve loaded and saved in Google Docs.
