How to root Galaxy S6 G920F on Android 5.1.1 (XXU3COI9) [Guide]

Samsung Galaxy S6 [1]Need to know how to root Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop? The following guide shows you how that’s done for the latest Lollipop XXU3COI9 firmware. Once you have updated your device to that firmware build, the old rooting method you had on the device is taken away, so you’ll need to use this guide to get root access again.




  1. Download the CF-Auto-Root tool by Chainfire from this link here [3].
  2. Download the Odin flashing tool that you need from here [4].
  3. Shift both the files over to the desktop of the computer.
  4. Right-click over the files and select the ‘extract here’ option.
  5. Double-click the Odin tool and have it running on your computer.
  6. Turn off by the Samsung Galaxy S6 LTE handset by holding down the Power key for about 5-7 seconds.
  7. Reboot the same smartphone in your hands by holding the Home + Power + Volume Volume Down and get that device in download mode.
  8. Connect the S6 to the computer using the USB cable.
  9. Check you have the re-partition box empty.
  10. Check the Auto reboot and f reset Time options are on.
  11. Click the PDA/AP button and browse the computer for the CF-Auto-Root file you extracted earlier.
  12. Click the Start button and Odin will now flash your device and grant the access to the root file system which we call root access.
  13. You’ll know it’s done by observing a pass message on the Odin display and your device should reboot automatically.
