About Windows Software of the Day
Windows has hundreds of thousands of programs. Because of this great volume and lack of a central store, software discovery (aka finding new and useful programs) is extremely difficult. With our Windows Software of the Day initiative, dotTech aims to change that. Everyday we post three programs, allowing our readers to discover new software, daily. Enjoy! RSS is awesome. All the latest news and headlines wherever you want, 24×7, constantly updating. If you want them on your desktop, however, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find a nice-looking widget. Enter Snackr: this little cross-platform app will automatically scroll recent news items from either a list of feeds, or even your Google Reader account.
If you want to set it up so that it constantly shows even when your windows are maximized, you can use MaxMax, the next piece of featured software!

If you have a sidebar or a gadget that you want to constantly have showing, using the maximize button can be very annoying: click it and it’ll cover up your widgets. Want to use it, but have it maximize it to the area that won’t cover up your gadgets? Try MaxMax.
To use MaxMax, you simply set up the bounds you want and hit the Maximize button on one of your windows. It’s that simple!
Version discovered: v1.12
Supported OS: Windows 7, possibly others

Want to upload lots of pictures to the internet? With any conventional service, it’ll take quite a long time and be downright painful. (Facebook, I’m talking to you.) If you instead want to upload them all automatically, try Tiny Uploader: it’ll automatically upload any pictures you drag onto it.
Tiny Upload supports Imgur and Imageshack. It’s a nice little program if you want to quickly upload pictures, and it comes in both portable and context menu versions.
Version discovered: v2.76
Supported OS: Windows unknown
Download size: portable 32-bit 1.4MB | portable 64-bit 4.2MB | installer 32-bit 2.7MB | installer 64-bit 2.4MB
dotTechies: We have tested all the software listed above. However, Windows Software of the Day articles are not intended as “reviews” but rather as “heads-up” to help you discover new programs. Always use your best judgement when downloading programs, such as trying trial/free versions before purchasing shareware programs, if applicable.
