[Firefox] Make your browsing more fun with Cheevos for Firefox

I’m a gamer geek but an admittedly latecomer to the game, so to speak. When I first started playing World of Warcraft, I’d never heard of an achievement system. So the first time I got one, it startled me. But after that, I was hooked. I spent hours, even days, hunting down specific achievements. They made the game even more fun for me.

Basically, Cheevos for Firefox is a game which encourages to try to attain certain achievements. It’s a system of achievements that will unlock and “toast” you with a small rectangular image on the screen every time you get one. The one you see in the screenshot I got for deleting my download history, and before I was finished playing with it, I’d also found an achievement for tweeting something. If you visit the add-on’s about page once you have it installed, you’ll get a full list of the achievements, but it won’t tell you what you have to do to unlock them.

In total, there are three levels to each achievement – bronze, silver, and gold. Until you unlock all three levels of one achievement, it won’t show you exactly how you got it. I cleared enough things from my downloads folder to unlock all three levels, and suddenly it linked me to “downloads window” as the location the achievement took place, but I have no hints for any of the others. However, hunting down achievements is the fun OF achievements so me giving hints is besides the point of this add-on.

If you like achievements in your games, Cheevos for Firefox is a fun add-on that brings a gamer quality to everyday browsing. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to try and figure out what some of the other achievements are. I’m hooked now.
