[iOS] Easily watermark your photos and images with PhotoMarkr

When I’m thinking about watermarks, I’m usually thinking about how to remove them. I think a lot of people are the same way. But for photographers and artists who want to ensure that their name stays attached to their work, a watermark is a great thing. After all, it would suck for your photo to go viral, only to have no contact info attached to it. If you want a way to quickly add watermarks to your photographs or other image files, PhotoMarkr is a good option.
PhotoMarkr lets users create, customize, and apply watermarks to their art. Users can customize their own watermark text, and choose from a number of fonts styles and font colors.
PhotoMarkr is a pretty simple app, all things considered. And yet, for such a simple app, there are some nice little touches were and there that let you feel like you have a modicum of control over the customization options.
PhotoMarkr allows users to add a watermark image and/or a bit of watermark text (such as “Copyright Tucker Cummings” or “Copyright @tuckerphotographer”) You can choose from white, black, gray, red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, or brown text for your watermark.
The font options are really impressive! There’s something in the neighborhood of 200 fonts here, including font sets like Helvetica, Verdana, Palatino, Georgia, Didot, Courier, Copperplate and more. I do wish there was a font preview, but that’s a pretty minor quibble.
Imangi Studios really did a good job creating an app that is simple to use. Applying watermarks on the go is really simple, and a lot of photographers will enjoy using this app.
I’m usually wary of apps that haven’t been updated in a couple of years. They tend to be buggy, or just not well looked after. PhotoMarkr ran well on my iPhone 4S (running 6.1.3), with no bugs or unpleasantness whatsoever. It’s a simple app, but a sturdy one.
If you’re a photographer who loves to share your work on Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr, or other photo sharing sites, this app is a good way to let people know who was responsible for the artwork you’ve created. The app is simple to use, offers a pretty decent array of customization, and helps to promote your own personal brand. Give it a try, for sure.
