HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 5 ON ANDROID 5.1 LOLLIPOP

  1. Download the custom kernel [2] to the desktop of the computer.
  2. Download the Odin flashing tool for Windows PC from here [3].
  3. Unzip both the custom kernel and the Odin flashing tool to the desktop of the computer.
  4. Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in download mode. You must press the Volume Down + Power + Home keys to get that done.
  5. Now that you are in the download mode, find the USB cable you usually use for charging.
  6. Connect the USB cable to the computer and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
  7. Now you are ready to upload the custom kernel to Odin.
  8. Click the AP button and browse the desktop for the custom kernel. Remember, you must unzip the file before you can upload it with Odin.
  9. Leave the default settings in Odin. You should have the re-partition box empty.
  10. Click the Start button and let Odin take over.
  11. The Odin flashing tool will now continue to flash your device so it finishes up with the root access.
