How to root Samsung Galaxy Core LTE SM-G386F on Android 4.2.2 [Guide]

If you do own the Core LTE with that same model number, you own a device with an advantage over many other Samsung devices. That is Samsung’s Knox security does not come on the device and therefore you cannot trip Knox by rooting. The advantage with that is you can unroot the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE with model number SM-G386F and send it away for free repairs again if the agreed warranty period is not yet over.

HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY CORE LTE SM-G386F

  1. Download the rooting package you need from this link [3].
  2. Download the Odin flashing tool for Windows PCs from this link [4].
  3. Download both the Odin and rooting files so you have them on the desktop.
  4. Right-click over each of the files and select the ‘extract here’ option.
  5. Double-click the Odin file and run the tool.
  6. Hold down the Power button until your device is off.
  7. Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE to download mode [5].
  8. Connect the Samsung Galaxy core LTE to the computer using the USB cable that it comes with out of the box.
  9. You should see the ID: COM port in Odin change color to let you know that the device is detected. Those without any detection should download the drivers from the link given above, or reboot the computer if you are sure you have the drivers already.
  10. Now click the PDA/AP button and browse the desktop for the firmware file you extracted there earlier.
  11. Check the boxes for Auto reboot and F Reset Time.
  12. Make sure that the re-partition box is left empty.
  13. Click the Start button and wait for Odin to hack open the root file system on your device.
  14. The handset will reboot when Odin is done. Likewise, Odin will give you a pass message on the tools display.

Once it’s done, you can unplug from the computer and enjoy your rooted device.
