  1. Download the Framaroot application from its home at the XDA Developers forum page here [2].
  2. You want todownload the file directly to the computer of your choice.
  3. Make sure you have the Unknown Sources option enabled on the Archos 50 Platinum device by pointing to the Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
