Listen to local media files or stream music from the web with Clementine Music Player [Windows]

Listening to your media collection can be quite annoying, especially if the files themselves were not properly cared for. Clementine doesn’t care–it uses the MusicBrainz Picard database to automatically tag music files, and can create smart playlists on demand.

Clementine also makes a relatively good podcast program. There’s no download mode, but if you use a torrenting program or other downloading source, it can function as an effective player.

The web is part of Clementine’s main appeal. It supports Spotify, Grooveshark,, Magnatune, Digitally Imported, Jamendo, SomaFM,, Digitally Imported, and Icecast, making for a wide range of services that can fit almost anyone’s preference. Note that for many of these, such as Spotify, you’ll need a Premium account.

Clementine is not the most beautiful media player on the market, but it certainly gets the job done. Its integrated song info search is probably one of its best features, as it allows you to download great-looking album art and tags without even needing to worry about having them properly tagged in the first place.
