Scrolling LED signs are actually pretty cool. They’re effective ways of communicating over a large distance without using your voice, meaning they work great in crowded areas. Ledify! brings that experience to your phone: it lets you create large, scrolling messages to show to anyone that can see them.

Ledify! is a simple app. You can either choose a pre-entered phrase, or type in your own. Since the developer recommends using Ledify! in low-light, high-noise environments such as clubs and bars, the default messages include ones about ordering various drinks. However, it’s still useful for other tasks, too. The developer again recommends flirting across the room, or hurling silent insults across the class with a friend. There’s more mundane things to be done, too–if you can think of them. The only limit to Ledify! is your imagination.

Overall, Ledify! is a cool and unique app. It’d be nice to slow down the scrolling speed a bit, but other than that, it’s the perfect app for communicating with people across loud and dark rooms.
