People don’t generally realize how much they depend on jotting things down until their desks are covered with little pickies of paper with unrecognizably blurred pencil smudges on them.If you’re one of those people, and you’re looking to upgrade to The Cloud, try CintaNotes. Designed to integrate into your installed Dropbox, it allows for real-time computer-to-computer note synchronization.
There are two ways to add new notes. One is to maximize the window and hit the Ins key. From there, you can enter a note body, tags, and even a URL. The other way is perfect if you always have to clip text: just select something and hit Ctrl+F12. Your new note will pop up, entirely ready to store, read, or leave.
If you’re using CintaNotes’ real-time updating to run multiple instances at once, that’s entirely OK–just change the color scheme of one of them using the built-in settings. You can also perform a real-time search of your notes with any running copy, and since notes are generally much smaller than other text files, the results feel instantaneous.
CintaNotes is a useful little cloud synchronization app for Windows. Because it uses the cross-platform Dropbox to sync, it’d be nice if it supported Linux or OS X, but it’s by no means a necessity. Overall, if you’re looking for a lightweight notes app, CintaNotes is hard to beat.
