Before We Begin
- Unlock the bootloader of your device.

Download and install the USB drivers for your HTC One Max, if you haven’t already done so.
- If you had previously installed HTC Sync, uninstall it. Any other phone related softwares must also be disabled.
- Disable your antivirus and firewall applications to make sure that they don’t interfere with the process.

Enable USB debugging in your HTC One Max.
- Disable Fastboot on your device (Settings -> Battery -> Fastboot).
- Disable lockscreen security (passcode, pattern, and face unlock).
- Download rumrunner (rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip) for HTC One Max.
How To Root HTC One Max
- Plug in your One Max to your computer via a USB cable.
- Extract the file rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip, which you had downloaded earlier to some location on your computer.
- Open the file soju.exe from the folder you just extracted.
- Read and accept the terms when you are prompted to do so.
- Wait for the application to run and do its thing.
- Your device may reboot a number of times during the process. Be patient.
- Congrats! You have now successfully rooted your HTC One Max!
