For those who don’t already know, Xposed framework is big for those in the rooting Android scene. With Xposed framework, we are able to make system changes to the Android operating system without a custom ROM installed. The only thing you need to get that happening is root access. We’ve already shown you how to root most of the Sony Xperia devices which should have you comfortably on your way to installing Xposed. You can check our guide for how to install Xposed on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
As with anything that gives us control of the internal system, tinkering with the settings doesn’t come without its risks. Many people are finding themselves in the unfortunate situation of getting the Xposed framework stuck in a boot loop on the Sony Xperia Z5, Z4 and Z3 smartphones. The following guide shows you how to fix Xposed boot loop issues on the said devices.
A third-party developer associated with the XDA Developers forum has provided an unofficial tool that will fix that boot loop issues for you. The Xposed boot loop solution is a simple one: just download the Xposed fix and flash it to your device. Now reboot and it should be done. Here are the steps in order:
REQUIREMENTS
- The following guide is only to be used for the Xperia handsets in the title. Do not flash this Xposed boot loop fix on a different device. It is true that Xposed works on many devices; however, this file won’t work for you unless you have Xposed boot loop issues on the Sony Xperia Z5, Z4 or the Z3.
- We recommend backing up the Sony Xperia device before starting the guide if you can. Those who have no choice can continue with installing the file. It shouldn’t wipe the data. That said, we are not liable for any data loss if you do lose data. Proceed at your own risk.
HOW TO FIX XPOSED BOOT LOOP ISSUES ON SONY XPERIA Z5, Z4 AND Z3 SMARTPHONES
- Download the (unofficial) Xposed Fix for Sony Xperia Z3 and Z4
- Download the file to the computer.
- Connect the Sony Xperia flagship smartphone you have to the computer.
- Transfer the Xposed fix file to the internal SD card. Make sure you do not hide the file in any sub folder.
- Now unplug the smartphone from the computer and power off the device.
- Enter your device in recovery mode. That should be the custom recovery you have installed along with the root access on your Snny Xperia device.
- Navigate to the “Install” or “Install zip from SD card,” depending on whether you are in CWM recovery or TWRP recovery. Both custom recoveries should be available for your popular devices.
- Confirm you want to install the Xposed boot loop fix on your device.
- Wait for the flashing to complete.
- Head back to the main recovery menu where you first entered.
- From the main menu, you should see an option to reboot the system. The wording might slightly vary depending on your custom recovery.
- Now once the Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 or the Xperia Z3 reboots, your boot loop problem should be solved.
