Thumbelina is the world’s smallest horse [Amazing Photo of the Day]

Thumbelina is 60 lbs (27 kg) and 17 inches (43.18 cm). She was born due to Paul and Kay Goessling, who breed miniature horses.

Brings to mind an old Ray Harryhausen classic called Valley of the Gwangi.

In a newspaper back in the 70’s, I saw a photo of the world’s smallest donkey. He was in an airline flight bag with his head sticking out. One time or another I also saw a picture of a miniature toy poodle puppy once, that fit into a teacup. There just seems to be a fascination with miniature animals, probably because of Gulliver’s Travels. =)
