[Windows] Disable USB reading or USB writing with one click with Phrozen Safe USB

USB drives are great–a great way to transfer viruses and sensitive files from one computer to another, that is. If you’d prefer to keep other people’s data off of your computer and your data on it, you can easily disable thumbdrives with Phrozen Safe USB with just a single click.

Phrozen Safe USB, which requires installation, is home to two settings: firstly, do you want it to start with Windows? Secondly, do you wish to place USB devices into read-only mode, read-and-write mode, or deactivated mode? Setting it up is as simple as choosing what you want from those two options.

If you don’t feel like pulling out the whole application window, it’s easy to toggle from the system tray as well. Right-clicking on the icon will get you the three USB status choices, and selecting one is as easy as clicking.

USB drives are part of the wild west of technology. You never know what they can hold and what they might hold in the future, but with Phrozen Safe USB, it’s easy to keep them off of your computer.
